Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes

Came here with a group of family for a birthday celebration in Phoenix. I cannot say enough good about this property. Everything was clean and well maintained. Rooms were larger than most and very nicely outfitted. Our entire family, all rented rooms, no one had a single issue with this hotel. Its close to the airport, check-in was courteous and prompt, rooms were clean and nicely updated, restaurant food and staff were great, pool was large and felt like a tropical paradise, provided hours of fun for the family. Even the giftshop was nice and had what we needed. Be prepared to walk a bit, and it takes a few hours to get the layout down. The property itself is absolutely beautiful with murals and a variety of desart plants. It has a wonderful view of the city from the bridge and offers a short on-property hike with some great views for the adventurers. Highly recommend staying here. We loved it and will certainly be back.

Ok well I have stayed at this property about a dozen times in the last 20yrs. And I would never of said any thing bad , because I was happy every time. Then I stayed two weeks ago tomorrow and the stay was ok. It wasn't tell a day later when I noticed they double charged my card. well, you would think with it being their fault that it would just be a simple phone call and they could go ahead and refund me the second charge. I can tell you it has been the biggest nightmare of my life. I probably got 2+ hours involved in this so far no answers yet and they don’t even answer my call now and accounting. They just let it go to voicemail. I’ve left messages every day for three days straight. It is a huge nightmare. I called Marriott corporate they really can’t help me immediately. It might be another five days before they can help me just be careful with the card that you give them and make sure that you don’t need any money off that card cause if they double charge you’re not getting it back for at least a couple weeks if not longer I’ve never been treated so bad in my life at any place and I will never go back to this place again Ever this is a nightmare. Love that this property is unique compared to so many of the resorts nearby. Built into the side of the butte, there are multiple levels, winding pathways, and different pool and hot tub areas that make it fun to explore. The lobby even has a waterfall behind check-in that flows down to the lower-level restaurant. Our renovated room was comfortable and nicely updated. The property itself, though, feels like it’s in need of some attention. There are signs of deferred maintenance throughout the grounds and common areas, and a little TLC would go a long way. The resort has great bones and a really fun layout—it just needs some refreshing to bring the outdoor spaces up to the same level as the renovated rooms.

Spent Mother’s Day/ daughter’s B-Day weekend at this resort, we found it to be quite quaint in a great location and had a very good breakfast. The only exception would be the on the rocks or top of the rocks restaurant …service is lacking. Being that that restaurant is open seating, it seems the waitstaff do not pay attention or do not communicate with one another when people are seated. Several times we had to go and ask for a menu, we had to ask for water, and we had to ask for someone to service us. We had a king size suite with a patio the patio is lacking. It’s just two outdoor chairs and a small table. Next time I prefer just a balcony. The room on the other hand was very nice, bed comfortable and nicely decorated. The resort was very quiet and has several small jacuzzi pools tucked inside of the mountains, along with two larger pools, and the views are just gorgeous. All in all we are satisfied and we highly recommend.
